Installation Instructions

Remove the 2 bolts from the rear fender strut on each side of the bike
Be careful not to let the chrome cover fall to the floor.

Put 2 new bolts through the saddlebag mounts (if equipped)
and then through the hitch side plate
Then place a 5/8" long spacer over the bolt that is towards
the front of the bike, and a 1/2" spacer over the bolt that
is towards the rear of the bike.

Then install the chrome cover over the bolts

Start the bolts back into the fender but do not tighten yet.
Repeat the above steps for the other side of the bike.

Install the 4 carriage bolts through the base plate and into the side plate.
Make sure the base plate rests on top of the side plates.
(You will have to pull the hitch to each side to get the bolts to miss the fender.
This is why we did not tighten the side plates yet.)
Place 4 washers and 4 self locking nuts on the carriage bolts and tighten.
Now go back and tighten the side plate bolts in the rear fender.

Your hitch is now installed!

Install the trailer ball on to the ball mount tube and be sure to tighten.
Tighten the bolt that holds the ball mount tube in place to remove any
play in the ball mount tube.
